Thanksgiving Cubico Coffee Glazed Turkey

14 November 2015

Want to learn how you can incorporate your delicious Cubico Coffee into your Thanksgiving dinner? Our Cubico Coffee Molasses Glazed Turkey will steal the show this season. This turkey has exactly the right amount of sweet, savory, meaty goodness, to get your whole family begging for seconds.

Ingredients:

1 cup molasses
1 (12 oz) jar apricot jam
2 tablespoons cider vinegar
1 tablespoon dijon mustard
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon of pepper
2 cloves of garlic minced
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
6 to 8 springs fresh thyme
1/2 teaspoon of ground ginger
1 1/2 cup freshly brewed Cubico Coffee House Blend or your Cubico Coffee of choice, divided
1 (5 to 6 pound) Turkey breast with skin

Note: If you want lots of glaze then add 1/2 cup of molasses and apricot jam. You can substitute molasses for agave, but use only 1/2 cup because it’s sweeter than molasses.

Preparation:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. Mix together the molasses, apricot jam, cider vinegar, Dijon mustard, salt, pepper, minced garlic, vanilla extract, fresh thyme and ground ginger. Place the turkey in a 1-gallon zip-top bag and pour 1/3 of the sauce. Seal and combine, let it marinate in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours. Set the rest of the sauce aside and add Cubico Coffee.
  3. Place turkey in a pan. Pour half of the remaining Cubico Coffee and molasses sauce evenly over the turkey. Cover with aluminum foil.
  4. Bake at 350°F for 90 min. Uncover and bake for 30 min more. To know if its ready insert a thermometer to the thickest part of the turkey. It should registers 165°F. Baste every 15 minutes with the remaining Cubico Coffee and molasses sauce.
  5. Let the turkey breast rest for 20 minutes before carving.

Congratulations, you’ve created your first coffee flavored turkey! Serve warm and enjoy!
