Coffee and sausage might sound as a bizarre combination but trust us its heaven in your mouth.
Ingredients:
1 lb of ground sage sausage or turkey sausage
1 large onion
1 cup of milk
3/4 teaspoon xanthan gum
1/4 cup of freshly brewed Cubico Coffee Pacific Fire
Salt and peeper to taste
Preparation:
- In a large skillet over medium heat brown the sausage and the onion. Drain any excess fat.
- Pour milk. Season with salt and peeper.
- Add Cubico Coffee Pacific Fire to the mixture.
- Let it simmer for a couple of minutes.
- Over low heat, slowly sprinkle xanthan gum evenly. Stir until the gray starts to thicken.
- If desired, save some sausages to accompany your meal.
- Serve hot over mash potatoes or biscuits and enjoy!
Note: Xanthan gum is a natural thickener, but it takes longer to react than flour, so be patient. If your gravy turns pasty just act more milk until you get the desired consistency.
